“SF YOUTH LEADING BLACK LIVES MATTER”

We thought about recent movements that were led by the Youth. We chose the Mission HS movement about George Floyd. Then we try to find a book that sorta relates to the movement we chose. This displays the impact youth-led activism has made because it shows the positive things that happened during protest and showing an example of an art piece to show how art can show resistance.

“FREEDOM IS A CONSTANT STRUGGLE” by Angela Davis
This book is meaningful to our group because we feel like it inspires us. This shows that this art is a form of resistance because it helps empower the youth and connects the past movements to present day movements. She states her opinions about racism and was fighting back.
